Crisis management

Crisis situation management is one of the UIC Security Group’s priorities to the extent that security issues have been the cause of numerous problems experienced by railway companies, from everyday vandalism and antisocial behaviour to the threat or reality of terrorist attacks.

In this context, some important work has been accomplished through improving and consolidating relations and partnerships with government, the police and the emergency services, and the Chairmen of UIC and UITP UITP International Association of Public Transport issued a joint declaration on terrorism in June 2004.
