We had our first regular meeting in Malaga, Spain on 27 and 28 March, bringing together our energy group experts both online and in person. We had fruitful discussions about different topics, ranging from the status of IRS and ongoing projects, including new projects to be launched this year, to the planning of the energy sector’s main events in 2024.
The experts are invited to review the forthcoming IRSs from the ELITES (ELectromagnetic Interfaces between diverse Traction Electrification Systems) and Reversible substations projects, which are going to be finished in a month.
Our trip to Malaga also had another purpose: a technical visit to the “La Comba” substation. Here we were able to see new technology in operation, helping to reduce energy consumption by sending the regenerative braking energy back into the national grid through the substation on the DC line.
The next E&ET meeting is scheduled for 9 July 2024.
