H2TR (Hydrogen Technology in the Railway) project coming to an end

The first progress meeting in 2024 was held online on 14 February and was attended by experts from SNCF, RFI, Trenitalia, ÖBB and ADIF. During the meeting, the experts discussed the progress of the project, offering technical comments on the draft of the document, which is expected to be finalised by the end of this year.

UIC has been successfully managing this interesting project by coordinating between the experts within the project group and the stakeholders outside of UIC, fulfilling its responsibility to benefit its members by ensuring their better understanding of this new technology so that railway communities around the world can contribute to the net zero mission.

UIC expects that this project will come to completion at the end of September this year.
