This project consists of a study to increase the energy efficiency of railway stations by storing the energy regenerated from train braking into energy storage systems in stations or substations.
The second progress meeting of the year took place in April, presenting the progress of Task 3, the “Energy and traffic simulation tool”, which is under development.
Thanks to the commitment of members, including ADIF, INFABEL, NETWORK RAIL, RFI, NS, SBB and SZCZ, this project is well on track, and is aiming to produce an IRS at the beginning of 2025.
