Senegal inaugurates the new TER extension between Diamniadio and Blaise Diagne Internation Airport

On Monday, 28 September 2026, Senegal celebrated the commercial commissioning of the new regional express train (TER) linking Diamniado to Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD), a significant milestone in the development of the national transport system.

This 19-kilometer extension enhances connectivity between the capital, Dakar, including the surrounding urban centres, and its international gateway by offering passengers a faster, more reliable, and more comfortable transport alternative. It also contributes to improving daily transport for thousands of citizens.

As the country continues to expand its transport network, the TER flagship project remains a tangible example of Senegal’s commitment to modern, sustainable infrastructure that supports economic growth, regional integration, and improved quality of life.
