Following on from the recent COP26 in Glasgow, where there was a strong presence from the railway sector, this third podcast will focus on what was able to be achieved during the COP and what the railway sector plans to do as a follow up to this COP and as a preparation for COP27.
François Davenne and Lucie Anderton will explore the core issues surrounding climate change, how the COP26 outcomes can support the railways to design a better future and what needs to be developed to make those developments into real game changers that will grow market share for the railways.
In the second part of the podcast, we will listen to extracts from a number of testimonials recorded during the COP.
You will hear first Christian Chavanel, UIC, and Ilse de Vos Van Eeckeren, NS, who were in the BATTERY TRAIN at Glasgow discussing the theme How to make the greenest collective mobility even greener.
You will also hear Mohamed Mezghani, UITP, who was in the HYDROGEN TRAIN and who shared with Members (and Mr Davenne) in the train his thoughts on the key accelerators for shift to public transport.
And then members who share their vision of rail for 2030:
Wim Van de Camp, Former Member of the European Parliament
Reinout Wissemburg, Prorail
Mike Muldoon, Alstom
