While 190 delegates and safety experts shared ideas on level crossing safety, trespass, and suicide prevention best practices at both the TRESPAD and ILCAD launch conferences in Buenos Aires, many countries around the world organised safety awareness activities at and around railway tracks, in particular at level crossings.

Some of them organised public indoor and outdoor safety awareness sessions at schools for those living near tracks, held press conferences with decision makers, distributed flyers to level crossing users or potential trespassers, posted safety messages on social media and YouTube, advertised on TV, the radio, in the written press, and even enhanced rail safety advocacy thanks banners and stickers being placed on vans at level crossings, on public buses, on trains, in stations and so on.

Examples of the different initiatives are given below, although the list is not exhaustive, with numerous EU countries taking part as well as Turkey, USA, Australia, New Zealand, India, Africa and many more.
