After three years of work, the EU project PROTECTRAIL, which aims at improving security through better protection of railways and trains and reducing disparity in security between European railway systems, will hold its final demonstration from 8 – 11 0ctober 2013 in Zmigrod, Poland (45 km from Wroclaw).
Based on the needs of the operators and on risk assessments, PROTECTRAIL developed real-life scenarios in which the security solutions provided by the industry partners of the project are tested. The tests that take place in Zmigrod will include situations that operators face, such as intrusion, lost luggage and CBRNE detection.
The focus will be on demonstrating the added value of an integrated and combined approach to security in rail transport using state-of-the-art technologies.
