UIC participates in the OSJD’s meeting of statistics experts in Warsaw, Poland

In accordance with the plan of activities, the working group meeting of statistics experts within the OSJD’s Commission for Transport Policy and Strategic Development took place from 19 – 21 March 2019 in Warsaw.

The meeting was chaired by Shukhrat Kayumkhodjaev (Chairman of the Commission) and was attended by 18 delegates from 13 countries, mainly the heads of economics or statistics representing national railway companies.

The meeting addressed the most relevant issues relating to the edition of Key Performance Indicators with statistical data on railway transport in member states for 2018 and key performance indicators on 13 international railway corridors of OSJD for 2018. In addition, the attention was paid to the recast of OSJD Code 305/1 Glossary – the 75 terms within the third phase of updates.

In order to promote cooperation between both OSJD and UIC, Roman Štěrba, Chairman of the UIC Statistics Group, presented information on the comprehensive statistics of high-speed railways collected at UIC. The participants took the information into consideration and discussed key terminology used in unique high-speed statistics at UIC.
