The Steering Committee of the UIC Global Passenger Forum (GPF), jointly organised by UIC, and Renfe, Spanish Railways was held remotely on 29 April 2020.
A warm welcome and opening speech was delivered by Manel Villalante i Llauradó, Director General of Development and Strategy of Renfe, Chairman of the Global Passenger Forum (GPF).
The five sector chairs presented their activities, including conferences, trainings and modification of their internal organisations.
Mr HUO Baoshi (CR), chair of the Intercity and High-Speed Committee
Mr Bartłomiej Buczek (PKP/ SKM), chair of the Commuter and Regional Train Services (CRTS)
Ms Sophie Buyse, vice-chair of the Passenger Services Group (PSG)
Mr Carlos Ventura (ADIF), chair of the Station Managers Global Group (SMGG)
Mr Carles Casas (FGC), chair of the Tourism Opportunities (TopRail)
They focused on the six opt-in projects to be launched in 2021, which were endorsed during the meeting, to be approved during the next Global Passenger Forum plenary session.
They underlined the cooperation and synergies with other organisations, such as UITP, IATA, ETOA…
Furthermore, the chairs presented the status of the International Railway Solutions (IRSs) of their sectors which were produced in 2019 and planned in 2020. These IRSs will be approved during the next Global Passenger Forum plenary session.
The date, location, and agenda of the GPF plenary session were discussed. It will be organised by RZD, from 9 – 10 February 2021 in Moscow.
