Germany: DB Arriva wins tender in Poland

The German Railways’ subsidiary DB Arriva has been awarded a 10-year contract to operate regional transport on all non-electrified routes in the Polish region Kujawsko-Pomorskie. The contract makes reference to a transport volume of two million train-kilometres each year. DB Arriva was the first private company to win an initial three-year contract to operate local passenger services in this region from 2007.
