Hubert du Mesnil appointed new President of Lyon Turin Ferroviaire

Lyon Turin Ferroviaire’s (LTF) Ordinary General Shareholders’ Meeting, held on Friday 29 March in Rome, appointed Hubert du Mesnil as the subsidiary’s new administrator and president.

Hubert du Mesnil succeeds Patrice Raulin, whose mandate has recently come to an end.

LTF’s senior management, comprising Jacques Rapoport, President of RFF, Michele Elia, Managing Director of RFI, and Mario Virano, Italian Government Commissioner for the Lyon-Turin project, met Italy’s Minister for Infrastructure Corrado Passera in Rome on 29 March, to take stock of progress on the new Lyon-Turin rail link.

On this occasion, C. Passera reconfirmed the Italian government’s commitment to France with regard to the Lyon-Turin project.

Hubert du Mesnil, Chairman of the French Institute of Delegated Management (IGD), was notably President of Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) from 2007 – 2012, having been Director General from 2005 – 2007. He was formerly CEO of Aéroports de Paris from 2001 – 2005 and Director of Land Transport at the Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing from 1995 – 2001. Hubert du Mesnil succeeds Patrice Raulin, former head of the Ministry of Transport’s civil engineering bureau, President of LTF since March 2008, who had himself succeeded François Lépine, President from 2002 – 2008. Patrice Raulin was also Chairman of the Société Française du Tunnel du Fréjus (French company which operates the Fréjus road tunnel), President of the Board of Directors of the Ecole nationale des TPE (French National School of Public Works), Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Société des Aéroports de Lyon, and former Director General for Maritime and Land Transport at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Housing. During the General Meeting, RFF and RFI paid tribute to Patrice Raulin and highlighted his achievements at the head of LTF.

Lyon Turin Ferroviaire is responsible for the studies and reconnaissance work conducted on the cross-border section of the new Lyon-Turin rail link. LTF is the joint subsidiary of Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).
