The ATTI Special Group held its second General Assembly on Wednesday 10 June 2015 at UIC Paris headquarters.
This special group is focusing on the hand-over process and interchange of wagons on previously agreed trains. Through their commitment to apply the same set of rules issued by the GCU (General Contract of Use of freight wagons) and UIC leaflets, the members are speeding up the hand-over process at any cross border or interchange station.
Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Director General, opened the General Assembly in front of around 40 representatives. Since the first kick-off meeting in June, 2014 specific tools and guidelines have been drafted by the ATTI executive committee.
Guidelines regarding the safety of freight trains, measures required for Quality Management Systems, and adjustments to be taken immediately in the event of quality shortcomings have now been agreed and endorsed by the ATTI community.
Furthermore the members agreed the budget and the proposal to start developing a Quality Assurance System (QAS). This will be the most important challenge until 2016. It should lead to a pilot run between voluntary ATTI Railway Undertakings (RUs).
To become a member of the ATTI Special Group, any RU – UIC member or not – may apply if a safety certificate and certified SMS are established:
