The main theme of this 10th High Speed Rail congress edition will be “Sharing knowledge for sustainable and competitive operations”.

As UIC Director General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux stresses, “the UIC High Speed Rail world congresses provide every two or three years a unique opportunity to exchange information and best practices on all aspects related to the development of competitive, sustainable and efficient high-performance passenger transportation systems. The congress gathers all actors and stakeholders of these developments, including governments, international organisations, NGOs and financial institutions, railways and their suppliers, research bodies and universities, and all partners cooperating at different degrees with the railway developers. The 10th World congress in 2018 should put a strong focus on new opportunities opened up by the digital revolution for sustainable operations and increased synergies between the rail sector and universities as well as the research world including start-ups, on intramodal connections and multimodality...

The High Speed Rail congress that is taking place for the first time in Turkey will provide a unique overview of the latest developments in the field of high speed rail and more generally rail transportation in this particularly dynamic region at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and the Middle-East”.
