Kazakhstan: NC KTZ"JSC and the province of Sichuan will develop cooperation in the transport sector

Issues of developing cooperation in the sphere of railway transport were discussed at the meeting of the deputy chairman of the development board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Maksat Kabashev with the member of the standing committee of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee of the CPC, secretary of the CPC city committee in Chengdu, Fan Ruipin.

The positive dynamics of the volume of container transportation along the route of the PRC-EU-PRC through the territory of Kazakhstan was noted.

For seven months in 2018, the volume of cargo transport through the border crossings Alashankou – Dostyk and Khorgos – Altynkol amounted to 7723 thousand tons, which is 1964 thousand tonnes (or 34%) more than in the same period in 2017.

Mr Kabashev informed the meeting about transport and logistics opportunities of Kazakhstan, the development of transnational routes, measures on increasing transit cargo flows.

"The Nurly Zhol Kazakh programme and the Chinese initiative “One belt is one way” are common goals that open great prospects in the development of transit and transport cooperation between our countries," said Mr Kabashev.

One of the factors of successful cooperation is the well-coordinated work of alliances and infrastructure partners. At present, NC KTZ JSC operates in 17 provinces of China. In the future it is planned to expand the geography of the presence in the Chinese provinces.

According to F. Zhuypin, Kazakhstan and China are actively developing transport and logistics infrastructure. The capacity of border stations is expanding, logistics chains are being built. He spoke about the transport capabilities of Sichuan Province and spoke in favour of developing cooperation in this area.

The meeting also discussed the establishment of a joint venture/representative office of NC KTZ JSC in Chengdu.
