Passenger Transportation JSC, as part of the implementation of the Nurly Zhol State Infrastructure Development Programme, is taking measures to upgrade the rolling stock. So, this year the park was replenished with new 63 reserved seat type wagons that run in the south-west direction.
On 30 December, 16 new rail passenger cars manufactured at the Tulpar domestic plant using Russian technology travelled from Nur-Sultan-1 station in Almaty on their first journey.
The cars are equipped with a modern fire extinguishing system with many smoke detectors, their own fire hose and a supply of water in each car. Two dry closets now operate autonomously and are equipped with 1200 litres of water stored in tanks with a lamp for disinfecting water. The service life of cars is 40 years.
New cars will be called upon to renew rolling stock in the direction of Atyrau-Almaty and Almaty-Mangistau.
Since the introduction of the Waiting List, during the peak traffic period, about 95,000 tickets have been bought. It should be noted that in the field of railway transport in the CIS, such a service was introduced in Kazakhstan for the first time after Russia and Belarus. Following the results of 11 months, the Company transported about 15 million passengers.
