Indonesia: Didiek Hartantyo appointed Managing Director of KAI (Indonesian Railways)

Didiek Hartantyo has been appointed Managing Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI as of 8 May 2020, replacing Edi Sukmoro.

Mr Hartantyo was born in Jakarta in 1961, graduating from Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, in 1985. He completed his MBA Programme at the Daniel School of Business, University of Denver, USA in 1995.

Mr Hartantyo is not a new person at PT KAI. Before being appointed Managing Director, he served as KAI’s Finance Director since February 2016.

Citing LinkedIn, before entering the railways, Didiek Hartantyo had a long career in the banking sector. He worked for a long time at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. He was Senior Vice President from 2009 until February 2011. Then he continued to be Executive Vice-President from February 2011 until January 2016.
