At our last GLCN meeting in October we exchanged on obstacle detectors.
SNCF Réseau has been working for several years on the development of a level crossing obstacle detection system, and is now starting to industrialize this technology. In order to enrich our work, we would like to gather information on your projects related to Level Crossing Obstacle Detectors (LCOD) on your country.
According to IEC 60050 this kind of system is called automatic danger zone detector - device used at a level crossing with full barriers or at a double half-barrier level crossing, detecting whether a road user is trapped in the danger zone between the barriers before permitting the passage of a train.
On behalf of SNCF Réseau we would like to send you this questionnaire. If first replies could reach us by October 9 please, additional replies coming later could be analysed in a second step and SNCF Réseau could present the results at our next GLCN meeting in the autumn 2025.
