Introduction
To enhance familiarity with UIC and its global activities, UIC is organising a series of dedicated web meetings for Asia-Pacific members. These sessions are designed to foster closer collaboration, drive greater engagement in regional UIC initiatives, and provide a direct platform for members to exchange ideas and address specific inquiries.
This particular session will focus on the critical pillars of Resilience, Safety, and Operations.
What the Webinar Will Cover
The webinar will introduce the frameworks of the UIC Safety activities and shed lights on active regional projects across crucial safety domains, including global awareness campaigns (ILCAD/TRESPAD), human and organisational factors, safety culture peer review, climate resilience and disaster mitigation (RERA). Additionally, the session will feature a live technical demonstration of the interactive UIC Safety Hub database and outline exclusive opportunities for Asia-Pacific members to join and collaborate within upcoming safety working groups.
Attendees will gain direct insights into:
- Global Safety & Awareness Campaigns: Best practices from current ILCAD and TRESPAD initiatives, with specific relevance to level crossings, trespass and suicide prevention in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Human and Organisational Factors, Safety Culture & Training: The impact of safety culture peer reviews, the Mind4change framework, and upcoming HOF (Human and Organisational Factors) and Safety Culture training sessions on improving daily operations.
- Climate Resilience & Technical Safety (RERA): Ongoing updates on railway climate resilience modules (addressing extreme events like rain, wind, and earthquakes) as well as Digital Automatic Coupler (DAC) rulebook.
- Interactive Safety Tools: A live demonstration of the UIC Safety Hub and free interactive Power BI benchmarking dashboards.
