Senior advisor for the rolling stock in the Rail System Department (RSD)
Secondment from UIC Member, contract from 2 to 3 years
Located in Paris, subject to business trips

The RSD provides technical expertise to achieve the actual challenges of the Railway Undertakings (RU) and the Infrastructure Managers (IM) all over the world, making mobility available, affordable, reliable and safe.

Stakes of the job
The advisor manages groups of experts in electrical and operational subjects to find a better solution to a specific problem or to consider the use of new technologies or new needs of the companies.
He works with the stakeholders of:

  • Railway companies, infrastructure managers: operating and technical specialists
  • Safety agencies,
  • Standard bodies (CEN, CEN-ELEC, IEC, ISO, …)
  • Manufacturers
  • Testing labs

Main activities

  • Leading working groups and projects
  • Feasibility studies, work programs, project proposals and cost-benefit analysis for the projects.
  • Prepare and manage the contracts necessary to carry out specific tasks required by his projects.

Job specificities

  • Solid knowledge in electrical engineering, analogic and digital electronics supported by a university degree
  • Target-oriented approach in the development of products used on railways (knowledge of standards, reports, studies, etc.)
  • Capabilities in problem solving, negotiations, diplomacy and management with the relevant interfaces and with experts of a good level
  • Simultaneous management of several projects and working groups
  • Collaboration with other organisations

Experience expected
