2022 UIC promotes rail worldwide through international events

UIC also promotes rail transport worldwide through a chain of international events, congresses, conferences and seminars, tackling specific issues in railway development. Depending on their subject, these events may be aimed at political and economic decision-makers, representatives of international and regional organisations, investors, manufacturers and universities from around the globe. Among the international events organised by or in collaboration with UIC, several have become global benchmarks for the professional railway community.

For example the world congresses on high speed, initially dubbed Eurailspeed, followed by UIC Highspeed; the world congresses on railway research organised in partnership with the key players in international railway research; the GRFC world conferences on rail freight; ERTMS and Signalling; Security, the “Next Station” international conference on stations and conferences on sustainable development and energy.
