The International Union of Railways (UIC) and China Railway (CR), are delighted to announce that the 12th edition of the UIC World Congress on High-Speed Rail is being organised.
This unmissable event will take place on 8-11 July 2025, in Beijing, China, in two symbolic locations: the China National Convention Center (CNCC) and the National Railway Test Center (NRTC). The congress is being jointly hosted by UIC and CR, in cooperation with all high-speed rail stakeholders around the world.
An event with a global reach
The Chair of the Board of CR, Liu Zhenfang, and the UIC Director General, François Davenne, would like to extend a warm invitation for world transport leaders to join this prestigious gathering. This is a one-of-a-kind event, bringing together more than 3000 participants from five continents.
Beijing, the host city
The congress is returning to Beijing for its 12th edition, 15 years after being held there for the first time, in order to shed light on the incredible progress and speed of the technological developments in China. This is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the remarkable achievements of the high-speed rail network.
Theme: “High-speed rail: innovation and development for a better life”
With this inspirational slogan, the congress will explore how high-speed rail, in China and around the world, has moved from being an exception to being the norm. Previously a rarity, high-speed lines are now part of national and continental networks, transforming global transport.
A platform for expertise and collaboration
The congress is an important and highly esteemed event, attracting an audience from all areas of the railway and technological sectors. Expected participants include CEOs from railways across the world, policy makers, transport authorities, as well as key figures in intermodality, infrastructure management and industry innovation. The congress offers a platform without precedent for sharing ideas and working together.
Multi-stakeholder participation
