On 23 and 24 October 2014 the second meeting of the second part of the Universal Rail Ticket (URT) Working Group was held in Brussels.
Organised jointly by the two chairmen of the groups UIC Ticketing TAG, David Sarfatti and TAP-NT, Kurt De Vriendt, the workshop benefited from the participation of Marc Guigon and Fabrice Setta, senior advisors within the UIC Passenger Department, Clemens Gantert, UIC TAP-MD group chairman, Leo van der Meulen, NS barcode ticketing expert, Sabine Dambuyant, UIC RCF1 group chairwoman, Chris Aerts, SNCB Distribution expert, and ticketing expert Shioshi Myojo from Japan Rail.
The first part of the URT working group focused on the functional description of rail ticketing processes. URT for the most part described the mobile App ticketing processes and their interactions with classic CIT paper and print@home rail tickets. During this Brussels meeting the missing after sales processes were completed and the next steps prepared.
The second part of the URT working group focused on the technical description and the messaging composition. Using XML Spy and Enterprise Architect each message will be defined in detail to be exchanged in the sequence diagrams processes set out in Part 1.
The URT work group meets every month and the next meeting in 2014 will be held on 26 November in Brussels and on 17 December in London.
All UIC mobile ticketing experts are welcome to attend.
