On the occasion of the International Railway Congress held from 17 – 19 March 2019 in Vienna, Mr Oleg Belozerov Chairman of Russian Railways presented the Medal of Honour on behalf of Russian Railways to Mr Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, Director General of UIC, in recognition of a career dedicated to the international development of railways.

Mr Loubinoux said that receiving such award is always a special moment:

• A moment of recognition for the work and achievements
• A moment of honour as this special medal is very rarely granted to foreign personalities

But beyond this recognition which is the expression of merits there is the expression of values:

• Values of unity, solidarity and universality that we try to foster among our members worldwide
• And more particularly with RZD personal values of respect and friendship
