Introduction
In 2025, our Asia-Pacific Web-Meetings focused on foundational work—primarily facilitating a better understanding of UIC’s general activities and establishing a baseline for regional engagement. Following these introductory sessions, we have received consistent feedback from our members: a clear interest in moving beyond general updates toward more direct and substantive interaction with UIC’s technical departments.
In 2026, we are evolving the Web-Series to meet this growing momentum. Building on the initial connections made last year, we are now creating more frequent and structured opportunities for the region’s experts to communicate directly with UIC’s technical sectors. Our goal this year is to bridge these expectations, fostering a practical dialogue that leads to concrete collaboration within our global working groups and projects.
2026: Creating Direct Channels for Exchange and Collaboration
This year, the programme shifts toward a more interactive and technical approach:
- Member-Identified Themes: The 2026 sessions are based on the specific technical areas where the region has expressed a desire for deeper involvement.
- Direct Access to Experts: We are prioritising dialogue over presentations, providing members with more time to engage directly with UIC’s departmental leads and technical experts.
- Active Participation: These meetings serve as a practical channel for the Asia-Pacific community to better integrate into UIC’s ongoing technical work and international standards.
