TRAIN TO COPENHAGEN
Dans le cadre des sessions d’information pour le personnel, l’équipe de ’Train to Copenhagen’ a été la première à faire une présentation le 16 mars. En interaction avec leurs collègues, Margrethe, Ho Kwon, Michael, Liesbeth, Aymeric et Delphine ont ainsi présenté l’éventail des différentes activités du projet, ainsi que les résultats obtenus, avec notamment un reportage photos et des extraits de journaux télévisés du monde entier. L’atelier s’est terminé par un quiz; les gagnants ont remporté un dessin original illustrant les débats à bord du Climate Express. Bravo à eux !
TRAIN TO COPENHAGEN
On 16 March the Train to Copenhagen Team was the first to take the floor as part of the programme of information workshops organised for UIC staff. Margrethe, Ho Kwon, Michael, Liesbeth, Aymeric and Delphine presented an interactive seminar covering every aspect of the project, including the results achieved (demonstrated by a photo report, press articles and extracts of TV news programmes). The workshop ended with a quiz and the winners went back to their offices with a framed original cartoon illustrating the debates that took place aboard the Climate Express. Congratulations to all of them!
NOUVELLES TECHNOLOGIES: NAVIGATION PAR SATELLITE APPLIQUÉE AU RAIL ET SIGNALISATION
Le 24 mars dernier, le personnel de l’UIC a été invité à en savoir plus sur les nouvelles technologies et leurs évolutions les plus récentes. C’est ainsi que George Barbu a dressé un panorama très complet de l’histoire de la navigation par satellite, de ses applications militaires et civiles ainsi que de ses évolutions récentes en Europe, en particulier dans le secteur ferroviaire avec le très attendu projet Galileo. Cette présentation technique fut très appréciée pour sa clarté.
NEW TECHNOLOGY: SATELLITE NAVIGATION FOR RAIL AND INFORMATION SIGNALLING
On 24 March UIC staff members were invited to learn more about new rail technology and its most recent development and possible applications. George Barbu gave a comprehensive presentation on satellite navigation, its history, its military and civil applications and recent developments in Europe, more specifically in the rail sector with the much awaited Galileo Positioning System. This was a very technical, clear and well received presentation.
FRET: PRESENTATION DES PRINCIPAUX PROJETS
Les 15 avril et 20 mai dernier, le personnel UIC a pu bénéficier de présentations intéressantes et informatives dédiées au sujet du fret. L’équipe animée par Oliver Sellnick a notamment présenté les grands projets dans lesquels l’UIC est engagée, tel que eRailFreight (présenté par Bernard Schmitt) ou TAF TSI (présenté par John Lutz). Les chiffres-clés et les objectifs du projet DIOMIS (transport combiné) ont été présentés par Sandra Géhénot, tandis que le « Rail Freight Portal », portail permettant l’amélioration de l’image du fret (www.railfreightportal.com), a été introduit par Gustav Manding.
FREIGHT: PRESENTATION OF MAJOR PROJECTS
On 15 April and 20 May UIC staff members were offered the chance to benefit from two interesting and comprehensive presentations dealing with freight issues. The team, led by Oliver Sellnick, presented the major projects in which UIC is involved, for example eRailFreight (presented by Bernard Schmitt) and TAF TSI (presented by John Lutz). Sandra Géhénot talked about the key figures and goals of the DIOMIS project (combined transport), and Gustav Manding gave an online demonstration of the “Rail Freight Portal” (www.railfreightportal.com), a web portal aiming at improving the image of freight.
