On 10 and 11 September, Libya was hit by the powerful Mediterranean storm Daniel, leading to wide-spread damage and numerous casualties in the east of the country.
Provisional figures put the death toll at 2,300, with 7,000 more injured. UIC’s thoughts are with every one of these people and their families at this difficult time.
As the consequences of climate change become more prevalent, UIC will continue to work on issues regarding adaptation and resilience, in particular with the countries that are already being affected.
