In June, facing the severe flood control and rescue situation across China and the large-scale centralised repairs in China’s railway system, China Railway still set new records in car loading by optimising its transportation organisation and exploiting the railway network capacity.
In June, the country’s railway system registered a daily car loading of 166,900 cars, an increase of 12,600 cars (8.17%) year-on-year, an increase of 7,914 cars (4.98%) from May. In that month, the railway system’s daily car loading hit the mark of 170,000 cars three times and set new highs four times. In particular, a car loading of 170,867 was made on 20 June, setting a new record in daily car loading.
CR regional groups in Beijing, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Zhengzhou, Jinan, and Nanning have all set new records in daily car loading.
On 18 June, Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway registered a daily freight traffic of 1,384,200 tons, setting a new high since the railway was put into operation. In H1 2020, China’s railway system registered a freight delivery of 1.694 billion tons, an increase of 58.337 million tons (3.6%) year-on-year.
