The sixth CCTT Business Forum was held virtually on 24 September, attracting more than 200 participants. Supported by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and NIS, the event is a unique opportunity for all those involved in transcontinental corridor development to share best practices, report on the implementation of innovative solutions and demonstrate their commercial impact.

The CCTT Business Forum is a key event for all those involved in Eurasian corridor development and welcomes participation from all stakeholders in the logistics chain, thus allowing for informed discussion on a range of success enablers.

As well as providing a general overview of business development (34% traffic growth throughout Russia was reported), the event also served as an opportunity to report on progress on projects such as Intertran, in which UIC is involved, along with developments in the field of process digitalisation for transit cargo on the Yokohama – Vladivostok – Moscow route. UTLC, Transcontainer, PKP Cargo and many other key players also discussed business development and advised of measures taken to mitigate operational bottlenecks and improve overall traffic flow.

The key focus of the event was improving the competitiveness of freight transportation between Japan and Europe via the TSR, addressing important issues such as debottlenecking, customs issues and real-time monitoring of cargo. Participants welcomed confirmation that subsidies will be granted by the Russian government for transit traffic through the Russian Federation.

Closing the one-day event, Mr Kenjiro Masuda, CCTT Vice-Chairman and Mr Gennady Bessonov, CCTT Secretary General, thanked the participants for their ongoing interest and support.
