High-speed rail in Spain has just celebrated its 30th anniversary. The Madrid-Seville line started operating in April 1992 and, since then, the railways have been a success story for the country as a whole. Spain initiated a process of enhancement and modernisation of its railway system that has placed the country in a leading position in terms of the quality of the network and services provided. This symbol of modernity and technical capacity was key in order for Spain to become a socially and economically different country than what it was before, sparking the most successful 30 years in its history.

Adif is proud to share the following video (translation available on YouTube), which details the memories of staff members and managers responsible for making high-speed rail a reality in Spain back in 1992.
