UIC has released additional videos for TRESPAD 2024 to increase the awareness of young people who are deaf and hard of hearing about the risks at and around railway tracks, and help accompany children and people who are visually impaired or with mild intellectual disabilities to find their way around railway stations and take trains safely.

The 2024 TRESPAD and ILCAD campaigns target “vulnerable users” with the slogan “Beware of trains. Life can change in a split second”.

The 3rd edition of TRESPAD (Trespass Awareness Day) is to be launched on 5 June 2024.

As part of its rail trespassing prevention campaign (TRESPAD), UIC has had the pleasure of publishing two additional videos from the Belgian rail infrastructure manager INFRABEL, who are an active partner of ILCAD and TRESPAD.

At the beginning of 2024, INFRABEL launched an educational programme dedicated to rail safety for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, which consists of two educational and one testimonial video (presented a recent enews article) in sign language.

In addition, UIC also would like to share two videos from Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS), the Dutch Railways. The first forms part of a safety campaign for people with mild intellectual disabilities and the second one for children with visual impairments:

The videos have been translated into various languages and shared within 50 countries around the world, who are all taking part in the campaign.

Additionally, UIC is delighted to invite you to the conferences to launch the 3rd edition of TreSPAD on 5 June and the 16th edition of ILCAD on 6 June, followed by technical and social visits on 7 June 2024 at the kind invitation of the Argentinian Transport Safety Board (Junta de Seguridad en el Transporte (JST)).
