On 1 December 2023, the Minister of Transport of the Slovak Republic appointed a new Board of Directors (BoD) for ZSSK.

Peter Helexa became the new Chair of the Board of Directors and General Director (CEO), replacing Roman Koreň.

Mr Helexa was born in 1975. He graduated from the Faculty of Management, Comenius University in Bratislava in 1998.

In the past, he has served as CEO and Chair of the BoD of Slovak Post and has held other important positions in both the private and public sector, mainly in the fields of telecommunications and IT.

The two other members of the Board of Directors are:

• Martin Bahurinský, Vice-Chair of the BoD, Head of Legal Department
• Karol Henzély, Member of the BoD, Head of Operations Division
