UIC is delighted to invite you to the international launch conferences of the 18th edition of Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD) and the 5th edition of Trespass Awareness Day (TRESPAD) taking place in person, in English and French, at the UIC headquarters in Paris on 9 and 10 June 2026.
These events will bring together road and rail safety experts to discuss ideas and share best practices on:
- Level crossing safety
- Trespass prevention
- Suicide prevention
Around 200 delegates are expected to attend, with 18 speakers at ILCAD and 20 at TRESPAD from around Europe, including France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the UK, as well as from Morocco, Canada, the USA, Japan.
Alongside these conferences, an exhibition will be held with industry leaders from the sector, including the SNCF Group (France), Wavetrain (Norway), Imotion Analytics (Spain), Hitachi (France), IDS (Italy), Schweizer Electronic (France), Zöllner GmbH (Germany), Gmundener Fertigteile-Bodan (Austria), East Japan Railway Company (Japan, Paris Office), IHI Corporation (Japan), Sankosha Co. Ltd (Japan) and Universal Signalling (UK).
These companies are generously supporting the events and will showcase their innovative solutions on-site during the conferences.
Technical visits, organised with the support of SNCF Réseau, will take place on 11 June 2026.
- Visit No.1: Technological Research Institute (TRI) “Railenium” (Rail Research and Innovation: https://railenium.eu/) in Valenciennes, in the north of France. Assets for simulation and testing (especially behaviour at level crossings) developed with SNCF
- Visit No.2: Level Crossing N°4 in Deuil-la-Barre (north of Paris)
- Visit No.3: Paris Montparnasse Station Control Centre
- Visit No.4: Control Command Centre (Centre de Commandement Unique (CCU)) in Pantin, and the iconic stations of Porte Maillot and La Défense
