The UIC Passenger Department is delighted to invite you to its first-ever Passenger Week, taking place from 13 to 16 April 2026 at the UIC Headquarters in Paris, with certain sessions also being available online.

This brand-new international event will bring together a varied community of stakeholders from across the passenger rail sector, including railway executives, mobility leaders, industry experts, associations, IT providers, institutional representatives, and academics. Over the course of four days, the participants will have meaningful networking opportunities, share expertise, and explore innovative solutions to shape the future of passenger mobility.

Passenger Week will offer a dynamic programme of technical sessions, open discussions, and high-level meetings, which are all designed to foster innovation in rail transport.

Programme overview

Monday 13 April, Technical Working Groups (on-site only)
The week will begin with sessions reserved for UIC working group members, including the East-West Tariffs and Timetable Expert Groups. These meetings will provide a space for in-depth technical discussions and project development.

Tuesday 14 April, Open Day (on-site only)
For all interested participants, the Open Day will be the highlight of the week, including:

  • A morning session with a focused discussion on multimodal ticketing, as well as addressing current challenges and future opportunities.
  • An afternoon conference with a high-level forum featuring four thematic Solution Panels on:
    • Standardisation – from design to implementation
    • Customer experience
    • Sustainability and socio-economy
    • Innovation, and the benefits of UIC groups

The day will conclude with a gala cocktail event, offering a unique networking opportunity in an informal setting.

Wednesday 15 April, reserved for UIC members (hybrid format)
These sessions will be primarily dedicated to UIC’s key governance bodies, with meetings of the Passenger Services Group (PSG) and the Global Passenger Forum (GPF) being held, both reserved for official representatives. These sessions will include strategic discussions, keynote presentations, and working meetings.

In parallel, thematic sessions will feature contributions from the Night Train and Top Rail initiatives.

On Thursday 16 April, reserved for UIC members (morning hybrid, afternoon on-site)
The programme will continue with sessions from the Station Managers Global Group, Commuter Rail Train Services, and the Customer Experience Platform.

The event will conclude with a technical visit in the afternoon and a cultural visit in the evening, both with limited availability.

Together for global excellence, shaping passenger mobility services.

Be part of this milestone event and help shape the future of passenger rail.
