All European UIC members are invited to the Research and Innovation Coordination Group (RICG) Plenary Meeting, taking place online on 29 June 2026, from 09:00 to 12:00 (CEST).

The meeting will focus on preparing the European Railway R&I+D Vision 2035 – White Paper, based on the UIC document Future Capabilities of the European Railway System. This strategic paper will ensure that the voice of UIC railway undertakings and infrastructure managers is clearly represented in the upcoming discussions on the next EU Financial Framework Programme (2028-2034).

As this future funding framework will be crucial for European rail research, innovation, and skills development, broad participation from UIC members is essential. The white paper will serve as a key reference in discussions with the European Commission, sector organisations, and within European Rail Research Advisory Council (ERRAC).

The session will be chaired by Christophe Chéron, French National Railways (SNCF), with the support of David Villalmanzo Resusta, the Spanish Railway Infrastructure Manager (ADIF), Chair of RICG Working Group 1 (Policy & Strategy), and Roberta Calcina, Italian State Railways (FS), Chair of RICG Working Group 2 (Coordination & Advocacy).
