UIC RID Experts hold successful meeting

On 13 and 14 November, the UIC Transport of Dangerous Goods Group of Experts met for its half-yearly meeting. The session hosted by CFL Cargo Germany GmbH, part of the Luxembourgish CFL Cargo Group, at the kind invitation of Director Frank John, in the German city of Duisburg.

The group ensure that UIC can fulfil its role as a railway representative at the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF) and the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in maintaining the Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID).

Led by Chair Roland Meister of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) AG and Marvin Kuch of DB Cargo AG, the meeting was a success, featuring in-depth expert discussions from UIC members, the International Union of Private Wagons (UIP), the International Rail Transport Committee (CIT), and OTIF.

A sincere thank you goes to the organisers, Claude Weis and Dennis von der Osten, for their excellent work and warm hospitality. The next meeting is scheduled for 3-4 March 2026 in Munich.
