Innovation Workshops organised by UIC Passenger Services Group cover industry and technology trends and their impacts on the rail industry. Each workshop combines pitches by industry experts, interactive sessions and co-creation activities enabled by digital collaboration tools.

The next workshop, “The Future of Ticketing”, will be about the emerging trends in technology and market shifts that are redefining ticketing.

Innovations in ticketing are making traditional models outdated. The trend towards dematerialisation is unstoppable. The airline industry is moving to an “offers-and-orders” model that does without tickets. Account-based mobility is disrupting traditional paradigms.

We will share insights on the key innovations taking place and expected in the next decade. We will provide an overview of the Ticketing Roadmap for international passenger rail travel and of the solutions that have the potential to transform the industry, enabling collaboration among providers and integrated passenger experiences across borders and modes.

The above will support our discussion about how the rail industry can lead the transformation towards seamless, multi-modal, cross-border, and sustainable mobility.

The workshop will take place on October 22, 2024, from 9:00 to 15:30 at UIC in Paris.
The event will be held in hybrid form, allowing participants to attend either in-person or online.
