General Meeting of MÁV Cargo appoints new management as from 1st July 2009

As from 1st July 2009, the General Meeting of MÁV Cargo Zrt. appoints Imre Kovács, the previous Deputy Chief Executive for Trade and Operations, the new Chief Executive. Kovács has decades of experience in leading positions in the carriage of freight by rail.

Beside Imre Kovács, Karl Zöchmeister was appointed the new Deputy Chief Executive for Operations. In the future, Kovács will be responsible as Chairman of the Executive Board for the Sales Section, Zöchmeister as Executive Board Member for the Production Section. Karl Zöchmeister had so far been working for Rail Cargo Austria AG, the parent company of MÁV Cargo, as the Manager of Transport Management and can fall back on many years of experience with the MÁV Group. Furthermore he has comprehensive knowledge in change and personnel development processes, above all from his former function as the Business and Operations Manager of ÖBB Personenverkehr. László Nagy, who only recently was appointed Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Board Member for Finances, completes the Management Board of MÁV Cargo. The former Chief Executive Dr. László Átol left the company on 30th June 2009.

There will also be a change in the Supervisory Board of MÁV Cargo: likewise from 1st July 2009 on, Csaba Siklós will be a new member of the Supervisory Board, in addition to the present members – Dr. Balázs Czudar, Gábor Pál, Tibor Mózes, Róbert Zlati.
