Indian Railways (IR) are organising a technical workshop on Optimisation of sleeper Design on 5th -6th April 2010 at its research centre RDSO in Lucknow, India.
Track and civil engineering experts from premier Indian Institute of Technology (IIT’s), Indian Railways, UIC, other experts from UIC member countries and industry will debate on key issues in sleeper design leading to optimisation of different design parameters. Participation to the workshop will also give the members a unique opportunity to visit the Research Centre of Indian Railways.
All UIC members are requested to depute their experts for participating in the workshop. The top management of Indian Railway including Chairman and Member Engineering will participate in the workshop.
Lucknow which is a traditional historic city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh is very well connected by flights (Jetlight, Indigo, Kingfisher Airlines and Jet Airways operate flights between Delhi and Lucknow. Duration of flight is one hour) and train (Shatabdi train takes approximate 5-6 hours from Delhi.
