UIC Asia workshop on Optimisation of PSC Sleeper Design (5th-6th April 2010, RDSO Lucknow, India)

As part of UIC Asia project on Optimisation of Sleeper Design, an expert level workshop was organised by UIC Asia in association with RDSO (Research, Design and Standards Oganisation of Indian Railways) on 5th- 6th April 2010 at RDSO, Lucknow.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. K.B.L Mittal, Director General of RDSO, Indian Railways. The workshop was attended by almost 100 delegates from 15 organisations which included academic institutions, industry, railways including senior track experts from Indian Railways and RDSO. Research papers and presentations were made during the workshop by Professors’ of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Chennai, Austrack Pty Ltd., Bachmann Consult GmbH Germany, NTPC, RDSO and sleeper manufacturing industries on Optimal Design of PSC sleepers, new manufacturing technologies in processes, quality control issues, and use of alternative raw materials including fly ash in manufacturer of concrete sleepers.
