During its recent General Assembly on 15th September 2010, the UIP elected Dr Eckart Lehmann, former CEO and present board member of Ahaus-Alstätter Eisenbahn Holding AG (AAE), to its new President for the term of the next 3 years. For the posts of the two UIP Vice Presidents, Dr Heiko Fischer, CEO of VTG, was reconfirmed and Mr. Bruno Dambrine, President of ERMEWA Ferroviaire and former UIP President, was newly elected.

In addition, the UIP reports a steadily growing number of member companies of its
national associations. Most notably, the full membership of AAE adds a new large
keeper and brings new important aspects dealing with intermodality and container
carrier wagons to the UIP agenda.
