Last week, on the occasion of his visit to India for the UIC/IR seminar hosted in Mumbai on Security Challenges and High Speed Development, UIC Director-General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux met Indian Railways Chairman Mr Vivek Sahai, which gave them the opportunity to discuss project developments in India.

The meeting, which took place at the Indian Railways headquarters in New Delhi, was conducted in a constructive and pleasant atmosphere, during which Mr Loubinoux recalled UIC’s role, its three-dimensional organisation, and the significant role that Indian Railways can play in regional development. He stressed the importance of member involvement in the working groups of high-level projects and the possibility offered by UIC for members to take part in this work with experts thanks to video conferencing.
