Following an agreement with the Italian infrastructure manager RFI and the telecommunications operator Telecom Italia, no fewer than 60 Italian high speed trainsets are to be equipped with Wi-Fi access. The move would follow that of Thalys which has already fitted its trains with Wi-Fi. More than 60 coaches will be fitted with wireless broadband, enabling passengers to check their E-mails or make telephone calls during the journey. The first coaches will start delivering this service from 12 December, revealed Mauro Moretti, CEO of the Italian railway group FS, during a showcase journey from Milan to Bologna.
