The Xrail alliance, formed between SBB Cargo and six European partner railways, has won the Swiss Logistics Award 2010. Awarded by GS1 Schweiz, the logistics prize rewards their active contribution to decongesting the public road network by shifting freight to rail. The Xrail alliance was created in February 2010 in Zurich. Rail transport companies SBB Cargo (Switzerland), CD Cargo (Czech Republic), CFL Cargo (Luxembourg), DB Schenker Rail (Germany, Netherlands and Denmark), Green Cargo (Sweden and Norway), Rail Cargo Austria (Austria and Hungary) and SNCB Logistics (Belgium) joined together with the aim of strengthening and modernising international wagonload traffic.
