The 8th UIC Training Session on High Speed Systems will be held from 26 June to 2 July 2011
For the first time, this year’s training session will take place outside Europe: held in Japan, it will give participants an insight into Japanese high speed rail technology.
The training session will begin and end in Tokyo. The week-long programme of activities will comprise a closely-interwoven series of theoretical classes and technical visits, with several visits to sites of railway technical interest featured on the programme: track and rolling stock maintenance centres, Shinkansen control centres, research centres, Shinkansen drivers’ cabs, training centres, major terminals, etc.
Since 2004, high speed experts across the world have made this event a real success and will also be present for this 8th edition.
Another main attraction is that participants will have the chance to meet Japanese high speed specialists, enabling knowledge and experience to be shared by all involved.
