A stand representing UIC will be present at the Railways& Harbours Conference and Exhibition 2011, to be held from 6 to 8 April 2011 in Johannesburg.
We will also be presenting the work of UIC/UIC Africa as well as ILCAD (International Level Crossing Awareness Day) on 7 April :
(see programme: http://www.railwaysandharbours.com/conference/railway-speakers/ ).
For information the Railways and Harbours Conference and Exhibition takes place every 2 years, hosted by African rail publication Railways Africa, which has been serving the rail industry across the African continent for almost 60 years. The first event took place in Cape Town in 2009 (80 exhibitors, 1200 visitors/day, 57 speakers and 300 conference delegates).
The 2011 event will be even bigger. Transnet and all their operating divisions will be present including Transnet Freight Rail, PRASA, Metrorail as well as Gautrain and a number of South African Rail operators exhibiting at the event. There will be a mix of attendees from Africa, South Africa and a fairly strong number of participants from overseas.
Railways Africa was a partner in the 2010 ILCAD campaign and will be joined by Transnet Freight Rail on 9 June for the 2011 ILCAD campaign.
