DB Regio AG and Bombardier Transportation have signed a nine-year framework contract – valued at EUR 600 million – for the supply of 200 diesel locomotives for passenger and freight transportation until 2020. The design of the new diesel multi-engine locomotive will enable operations on both national routes and European freight networks by DB Regio and DB Schenker Rail respectively. Delivery of the first 20 160 km/hr locomotives is planned for mid 2013
