Next year from 23 to 26 April 2012 the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2012 conference and exhibition – which aims to be THE transport research conference in Europe – will take place in Athens. It will focus on all aspects of surface transport modes (road, rail and waterborne) and also cross-modal aspects (including intermodal freight transport and urban mobility).

The European Commission, as co-organiser of the conference, wants the event to be a showcase of all FP6 and FP7 transport research projects.
The TRA 2012 Programme Committee has the pleasure to invite all those involved in any surface transport mode to present their work and their vision of greener, safer and smarter surface transport for Europe and for the rest of the world.

The abstracts should relate to one of the conference topics covering all areas of surface transport. The conference proceedings will be published on e-platform Procedia through Elsevier. Moreover, all successful completed papers will be considered for publication in special or supplementary journal issues of Elsevier. The abstract must be no longer than 300 words.

The TRA 2012 Programme Committee is pleased to invite national, European and international bodies, federations, associations, projects, initiatives, professional institutions and unions to organise a Special Session on a topic of their priority/interest falling within the six Pillars of the Conference. Interested parties should submit:

  • Proposal including title of the special session,
  • Motivation statement and
  • Potential invited speakers.

We look forward to receiving your abstract by 15 May 2011 and your proposal for the Special Session by 30 May 2011 and to possibly welcoming you to Athens next year!
