The portal, fully dedicated to rail freight, aims to create a positive image of the sector, building on the remarkable progress made by the railway companies in response to the logistics needs of their customers. Various new sections have been developed in this version, in which each member alternately supplies information to the content. Thus, the “railway relay blog” offers a lively and continuous approach of each member, the “3 questions to…” section enables the member to spotlight specific topics of significance, and the “customer cases” enable each railway to communicate on specific business successes.

The new functions in this version will enable all the members’ activities to be highlighted thanks to the pressroom: a dedicated space where all freight news (press releases, UIC newsletter, freight news) are stored.

The site has been developed together with the support and contribution of the UIC members: BLS Cargo, CFL Cargo, CFR MARFA, CP, DB Schenker, Green Cargo, Rail Cargo Austria, RENFE, SBB Cargo, SZ, SNCB Logistics and Trenitalia who are actively contributing each month in an attempt to keep the portal dynamic and with a view to promoting rail transport.

The portal represents a unique opportunity for railway undertakings to communicate their key rail freight messages in a European context. RZD, the current member of the month, presents an interview of Mr Morozov, First Vice-President of Russian Railways. DB Schenker and the international “EuropeTrain” project will be the focus for the month of May.
