The certificate award ceremony for the Advanced Railway Operation Course for Vietnam from 12 to 28 May was held at IRaTCA on 27 May. The course objective is to make trainees understand the advanced railway operation systems through customised lectures, providing them with an opportunity to visit the main facilities of KORAIL in order to contribute to the improvement of the high-potential trainees.

The participants visited Goyang KTX depot, IT centre, KARST (Korea Airport Railway Seoul Station Terminal), and Seoul Station for a study visit, which are representative up-to-date railway infrastructures of KORAIL. They tried to get the best from what they learned from the beginning to the end. Therefore, the 15 trainees from Vietnam Railways and its subsidiary companies successfully completed the course.

It was more meaningful that Mr Sim Hyeog-Yun, Vice-President of KORAIL, participated in the ceremony to give his congratulatory speech. He stressed that we are aiming at achieving co-prosperity among Asian railways through this course, which will vitalise the arena of mutual cooperation that builds closer human networks in the future.

Mr Bui Hoang Vu evoked an historical event in his reply speech that when a Vietnamese political exile visited Korea around 1000 years ago, the Goryeo Dynasty warmly accepted and helped him to settle in Korea. He said “we receive great assistance again from Korea and KORAIL a thousand years later from that time, so I deliver thanks on behalf of Vietnam Railways.”

IRaTCA celebrates its 3rd anniversary this month since of its establishment in 2008. In the meantime, IRaTCA continues its efforts to be the best railway training institute in Asia supporting the development of Asian and African developing countries’ railways.
